Workshop Title: Course Mapping Workshop

Course mapping is a strategy that can help create alignment in a course. Students, faculty, & staff at SCSU have free access to Lynda.com (LinkedIn Learning), an online learning platform that is a resource instructors can use to help learners achieve academic goals. Lynda.com also offers resources that allow faculty to assign students content to supplement their curriculum & Flip the Classroom.

Lynda.com (LinkedIn Learning) is pleased to offer a virtual course mapping (see attachment) workshop.

This workshop will focus on:

  • segmenting course mapping into easy steps,
  • sharing tips and best practices for course mapping,
  • providing samples and templates of course mapping, and
  • providing hands-on course mapping practice, so be sure to bring your course syllabus

This workshop is designed for faculty new to Blackboard or other who would like a refresher course. Topics include basic Blackboard navigation, common course tools, content creation, uploading course syllabus, creating an announcement, making course available to students. This on-demand webinar is available 24 hours per day, seven days per week in SC State’s Blackboard Collaborate. The webinar is presented online not in a particular room on campus. The Grade Center
This three-part series demonstrates common tasks that faculty perform using the Blackboard Grade Center. This on-demand webinar is available 24 hours per day, seven days per week in SC State’s Blackboard Collaborate. The webinar is presented online not in a particular room on campus. This on-demand webinar illustrates the following tasks related to the Grade Center:

  • Navigating the Grade Center
  • Managing grades using the grading of tests and assignment submissions
  • Customizing the Grade Center using grading periods, Smart Views, letter grade schemas, and the column organization page
  • Creating and managing columns to calculate grades
  • Adding color rules to the Grade Center
  • Creating visual indicators to quickly interpret information
  • Using the Needs Grading Page to help instructors easily identify which assignments are to be graded
