SCSU urges its instructors to use Bb to store and access data to demonstrate student success.   • These mini-workshops are a part of a series, so you will only be required to complete one registration form.
  • Participants MUST attend all four workshops to successfully complete this training.
    Participants will be asked to complete preparatory assignments throughout the course of the series of workshops.
  • To avoid disruptions, no persons will be admitted to the workshop after the state start time(s). Therefore, please plan your schedule such that you arrive on time.

Getting Started with Blackboard: Blackboard Essentials
This workshop is designed for faculty new to Blackboard or other who would like a refresher course. Topics include basic Blackboard navigation, common course tools, content creation, uploading course syllabus, creating an announcement, making course available to students. This on-demand webinar is available 24 hours per day, seven days per week in SC State’s Blackboard Collaborate. The webinar is presented online not in a particular room on campus. The Grade Center
This three-part series demonstrates common tasks that faculty perform using the Blackboard Grade Center. This on-demand webinar is available 24 hours per day, seven days per week in SC State’s Blackboard Collaborate. The webinar is presented online not in a particular room on campus. This on-demand webinar illustrates the following tasks related to the Grade Center:

  • Navigating the Grade Center
  • Managing grades using the grading of tests and assignment submissions
  • Customizing the Grade Center using grading periods, Smart Views, letter grade schemas, and the column organization page
  • Creating and managing columns to calculate grades
  • Adding color rules to the Grade Center
  • Creating visual indicators to quickly interpret information
  • Using the Needs Grading Page to help instructors easily identify which assignments are to be graded
